I wanna share with you some thoughts about what you need to know if you decide to start a healing journey. That’s also what I tell to my clients who are already in therapy.
So many people begin therapy with this quiet hope:
I’m struggling → I start therapy → I feel better.
And I understand why. When you’ve been carrying pain, anxiety, confusion, or loneliness for so long, you just want relief. You want clarity. You want peace. The end of suffering. And as fast as possible.
But healing is not a straight line - not because you’re doing it wrong, but because growth asks us to feel, learn, unlearn, and practice again and again.
Here’s what therapy and emotional healing often really look like:
🤍You struggle.
🤍You gather the courage to ask for help.
🤍You learn a new skill, and then you forget it when you’re overwhelmed.
🤍You feel hopeful one week and discouraged the next.
🤍You introspect, you uncover old wounds, you feel more before you feel less.
🤍You sit with emotions you used to avoid.
🤍You start to understand yourself differently.
🤍You feel better, then something triggers you, and you think you’re “back to zero.”
🤍You practice again. You soften. You grow.
This up-and-down path is not a setback. It’s the healing process itself.
Because therapy isn’t about fixing you - it’s about helping you meet yourself, maybe for the first time, with compassion, clarity, and honesty. It’s about teaching your body safety, your mind flexibility, and your heart permission to feel without abandoning yourself.
If you’re on this journey, or thinking about starting, please know:
🤍You are not failing because you’re triggered again.
🤍You are not broken because some days feel heavier.
🤍You are not weak because old patterns resurface.
🤍You are human, and healing asks for patience, courage, and support.
In my practice, I don’t expect perfection. I expect humanity. I expect tenderness after years of survival. I expect changes that come in waves, not straight lines.
And I walk beside you through the confusion, the breakthroughs, the regressions, the clarity, the grief, the relief, the practice.
Healing is not linear, but it is possible.
So if you are ready to begin, or trying to keep going, let this be your reminder:
You don’t have to do it perfectly.
You just have to keep showing up for yourself, even when it’s messy.
And you don’t have to do it alone.
🤍
If your nervous system is tired, if you’re overwhelmed by emotions, if you’re ready to understand the roots instead of just managing the symptoms - therapy can be a place where you learn to carry your story differently.
