You Are Not Lazy. You Are Healing.šŸ¤

As a therapist and as a woman who has lived many seasons of surviving, healing, and overgiving, I want to remind you:

Rest is not laziness.

Slow steps are not failure.

Quiet days are not wasted days.

We live in a world that praises hustle, busyness, and constant striving as markers of worth. But for many of us, especially women who have spent years in survival mode, giving more than we had, carrying others while ignoring ourselves, rest can feel unfamiliar, even wrong.

But please let me tell you something important:

When your body begins to heal, when your nervous system feels safe enough to soften, it will crave stillness. It will ask for sleep, slowness, and softness. It will want to pause to catch up on all the years it could not rest.

You deserve this rest.

You deserve to take slow mornings without guilt.

You deserve afternoons of quiet without explanation.

You deserve evenings where you exhale deeply, without rushing to the next thing.

You don’t have to ask for permission to anyone.

You don’t have to finish your things to do. The list is endless. You know that.Ā

Rest is not the opposite of healing. It is healing.

It is your body’s way of saying: ā€œI am safe enough now to stop running.ā€

It took me a long time to learn this in my own life. To allow myself to sleep in, to take slow walks without a purpose, to close the laptop and simply be—not because I earned it, but because I am human and I need it. Because I am worthy, even when I am not producing.

If you feel tired, it does not mean you are failing. It means you are listening to your body. It means you are honoring your healing.

You do not need to prove your worth by burning out.

You do not need to justify your need for rest.

Your softness, your slow days, your quietness, your sleep are sacred.

You deserve to live, not just to survive.

If this speaks to your heart, take this as your permission to slow down today. Rest is a part of your healing journey. You are allowed.

With much love,šŸ¤
